Hosting & Architecture

Stop renting your own operations. Own them.

A private, self-hosted technology stack — built, deployed, and maintained for your business. Real ownership of your data, your tools, and your costs. No SaaS rent, no feature locks, no vendor lock-in.

Why Self-Host

Stewardship, Not Rent.

Most software businesses are built to extract recurring rent from operations they do not run. There is a better way.

Real Ownership

Your data lives on infrastructure we manage for you — not on a vendor's server, not subject to a vendor's terms of service, not at risk of a vendor's policy change. If you ever decide to walk away from us, the system goes with you.

Predictable Cost

One flat hosting price — not per seat, not per workflow, not per gigabyte. As you grow, your software costs do not scale with your team. The accountant you hire next year does not become a recurring tax.

Built to Last

Open-source applications outlive the companies that build them. Your business should not depend on a startup's runway, an acquisition, or a pivot. Open ground is more solid than rented land.

The Toolkit

Tools you can own.

A working library of open-source applications we deploy, configure, and maintain. Most businesses can replace the bulk of what they rent with a handful of these — the rest are on the shelf when your operations call for them.

What "Self-Hosted" Means With Us

You Own It. We Run It.

Self-hosting does not mean you become a sysadmin. It means the infrastructure is yours by contract — and we handle the operation and maintenance of it for you.

Hosting & Deployment

We manage the full stack: operating system, Docker containers, networking, configurations, and software updates. You are welcome to look under the hood — but the day-to-day operation is on us.

Linux · Docker · Nginx

Backups

Every client's data is backed up nightly to both local volumes and remote servers in different geographic locations. Rollbacks are a few commands away — for data corruption, bad updates, or any other emergency.

vsync · borg · Multi-Site

Security

Only Nginx reverse proxy ports are exposed. Two-factor authentication is supported and encouraged across every application. IP filtering is available for sensitive endpoints. The attack surface is deliberately narrow.

Monitoring

Server stats and individual service health are watched continuously by Uptime Kuma and Prometheus + Alert Manager. Designed to catch problems before they cause downtime — usually before you ever notice.

What This Looks Like in Practice

"

Over the past year, Michael has completely changed how we handle the back end of our business. Before Digital Sovereignty, our jobs, bids, emails, and files were scattered across inboxes, Google Drive, and text messages. He built us a private, self-hosted system where we actually own our data — our domain, private cloud storage, proper backups, secure access. We were able to cancel a pile of scattered subscriptions and avoid moving into even more expensive SaaS tools.

He also implemented and customized a CRM specifically for how a contractor operates. Now:

  • Leads, bids, clients, and subs are all in one place
  • Emails automatically tie into the right job or contact
  • Follow-ups and bid deadlines do not slip through the cracks
  • I can see our pipeline from lead to proposal to awarded job at a glance

Between subscription savings, fewer lost documents, and tighter control over change orders and bids, I can say without exaggeration that he has saved us many thousands of dollars and a huge amount of wasted time. Michael did not just put software in place — he learned how we actually run work, then shaped the system around that.

I trust his competence and his integrity. If you are a business owner who wants to save real money, get out of SaaS dependency, and have a CRM and digital setup that actually supports your operations, I recommend Michael without hesitation.

Tailored to How Your Trade Runs.

The base stack covers most operations. But every trade has its own quirks — the way a contractor tracks change orders is not the way a law firm tracks matters, which is not the way a bookkeeper handles client onboarding. We pre-configure trade-specific bundles that ship with the workflows, fields, and integrations your industry actually uses, then customize from there.
